About Me
A Pork Barbecue Feast

Growing up, my grandparents enjoyed preparing pork barbecue a few times every year at their home. Whenever they barbecued, they would invite several friends and other family members over. To serve with the pork meat, my grandmother always prepared several mouthwatering side dishes such as potato salad and baked beans. Because they slow cooked the meat for hours, they were always extremely tired when the fun festivities were complete. Nowadays, my family skips the hassle of cooking pork barbecue themselves. Instead, they enjoy this delicious entree at a favorite local restaurant. On this blog, you will discover the best side dishes to order with a pork barbecue meal at a restaurant. Enjoy!

3 Ordering Tips For Your Next Pizza Party

Roland Adams

If ordering pizza for your family can be challenging at times, consider the even more difficult prospect of ordering pizzas for a large group of people at a party. While pizza is a popular option that can usually appeal to a wide variety of people, individual tastes when it comes to the type of pizza and the toppings can vary wildly. Special dietary needs and preferences only compound the problem. Take a look at some tips that can help you craft the perfect pizza order for your next pizza party:

One Topping Per Pizza

Sure, there will probably be people in your group that would love a slice of pizza with everything, but there will also be plenty who have strong aversions to a particular topping and will avoid any pizza that has that as one of their toppings. Instead of loading up your pizzas with toppings, order most or all of your pizzas with only one topping each.

Sticking with one topping per pizza allows everyone to grab a slice with something on it that they like, without having to pick off toppings that they don't like. Include plenty of pepperonis, as that's a common favorite among pizza toppings. Make sure that a few of your pizzas are plain cheese pizzas as well – while it may not be everyone's favorite topping, many people will happily choose plain cheese as a second choice if the topping that they really want isn't available. Sausage and mushrooms are two other toppings that often work well alone.

Crust Variety

Choosing the type of crust can be even more contentious than choosing the right toppings. A 2016 survey showed that thin crust was the most preferred type of pizza crust among Americans, with 29% of survey respondents preferring it. But if your pizza party guests skew younger, they might prefer stuffed crust – 26% of Millennials chose that as their favorite. However, when other groups are included, stuffed crust comes in behind regular crust, preferred by 18% of Americans, and deep dish, preferred by 15% of Americans.

Since no pizza crust choice got more than 29% popularity, there's no clear crowd-pleaser in the group. Your best bet is to order a variety of crusts, leaning a little more toward thin crust for an older crowd and a little more toward stuffed crust for a younger crowd.

Alternative Options

Pizza is a popular food choice, but it can pose problems for some people. Even a cheese pizza or a pizza with a vegetable topping is not going to work for a vegan. And people with lactose intolerance or gluten sensitivity can also have problems with pizza.

Ideally, you'd reach out to your guests before the party to find out if they have special dietary needs. You can order gluten free, cheeseless, and even vegan pizza from many pizza restaurants, but it helps to know ahead of time that you'll need them. If the pizza party is a spur of the moment event and you're not sure of everyone's food preferences, make sure to order some alternatives. A large salad can go a long way toward making sure everyone has something to eat – just leave the meats and cheeses off of it or have them placed on the side, along with a variety of dressings. Wings and garlic bread also make good sides – choose non-breaded wings for your gluten-free guests and garlic bread without cheese for your lactose-free guests.

A large pizza order can be a challenge, but it's worth making the effort to come up with an order that will include something that everyone likes to eat. Contact a company like Vento's Pizza for more information and assistance.
